AL PASTOR
Pineapple-marinated pork from the trompo, hand-cut to order, cilantro, onion, fresh lime. La Laja signature.
A late-night taqueria on West Victory Boulevard cooking estilo La Laja — the village style from Jalisco. Trompo de pastor, carnitas, lengua, suadero. Open six nights a week from 4:30 in the afternoon.
Tacos Jalisco Estilo La Laja brought the village-style recipe from La Laja, Jalisco to West Victory Boulevard in 2019. The trompo cooks every afternoon, the carnitas slow-simmers in copper, and the suadero is hand-cut to order.
Open Tuesday through Sunday from four-thirty in the afternoon until eleven at night, eleven-thirty on weekends. Hand-pressed corn tortillas, four salsas, agua frescas made twice a day.
Closed Mondays. Cash or card, same price. The line forms by seven on Friday.
"Tacos Jalisco is the spot in Burbank for late-night Mexican. Three years going every Saturday at nine and the suadero has never disappointed. Real La Laja recipe. Real shop."
"Walked in at nine on a Friday and was eating the best al pastor I've had in the Valley by 9:20. The trompo is real, the lengua is no joke. Coming back next week."
"Bring my whole crew every Friday night before the bar across the street. Six guys, twenty tacos, the bill never crosses a hundred and the night is made."
On West Victory Boulevard between Buena Vista and Hollywood Way. Late-night service Tuesday through Sunday. We serve until eleven, eleven-thirty on weekends.
